Hi everyone and thank you so much for supporting the #emilytest campaign. Me and my family have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received and I know that our campaign is making a difference.
Earlier in January, I was invited to meet with Shirley-Anne Somerville, Minister for Further and Higher Education, to whom the petition is jointly written to. I believe this petition, and your work to support it is working, and we’re being listened to by decision-makers in the Scottish Government. You can see my interview with STV news following the meeting here: https://youtu.be/174Ma9ANy_Q
However, with many competing priorities on Scottish Government funding, we must ensure that we keep up the pressure until the Scottish Budget for 2018/19 is finalised in just a few weeks time. I’ll also be writing to the political party leaders in Scotland to ask for their support for the campaign asks in the upcoming Scottish Budget.
Will you help to gather support for our campaign by sending the petition on to just 3 friends or family? I’m confident that with your support we can reach 10,000 supporters.
Not only does the #emilytest campaign help to raise awareness to victims that there is support available, but we can make a real difference in ensuring that students are properly supported during their studies and that we do all that we can to prevent this happening again.
Thank you again for all of your help, your actions, comments and support means so much to us as a family.
