In May I attended the launch of Glasgow Caledonian University’s #GCUerasethegrey campaign to tackle Gender Based Violence (GBV) on campus. This week I welcomed the opportunity to meet again with Jackie Main, Director of Student Life and Debbie Donnet, Assistant Head of Governance at GCU to discuss the finer details of their work and the challenges ahead. After 3 years in development the #GCUerasethegrey campaign will be active across the University when the next term commences in September. Banners, posters, social media posts will help to not only raise awareness of the issues of Gender Based Violence, but will help victims/survivors find professional support. Vital work which endorses GCU’s Zero Tolerance approach to all forms of violence against women. With the University recently welcoming Dr Annie Lennox OBE as Chancellor, who has a longstanding commitment to equality, this work can only strengthen.
